OBITUARY MARTIN ROSENKRANS '67
Martin Rosenkrans '67, the oldest member of the Sussex County, N.J., Bar Association and widely known throughout northern New Jersey, died April 27 in Paterson at the home of his son, Addison P. Rosenkrans '98. He had been in failing health for months.
Mr Rosenkrans was born Sept. 11, 1843, the son of Everett and Mary Buss Rosenkrans. He was a great grandson of Colonel John Rosenkrans, who served in the Revolutionary war, and a grandson of Benjamin Rosenkrans, a soldier in the war of 1812. He was admitted to the bar as an attorney in June, 1870, being made a counsellor-at-law in 1873. He was married March 21, 1871, to Miss Martha Van Blarcom of Newton, N.J. Mrs. Rosenkrans died about fifteen years ago.
Mr. Rosenkrans had served as Director and Counsellor for the Sussex County Board of Freeholders and also at one time was President of the Newton Board of education. He was a noted lawyer and several celebrated jurists learned the rudiments of law in his office.
Mr. Rosenkrans is survived by three children: Miss Lillian M. Rosenkrans, Dean of Hood College at Frederick, MD., and Addison P. Rosenkrans '98 and William V. Rosenkrans '00, both of whom are practicing lawyers in Paterson.
