SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR MRS. J. F. ANDERSON Funeral services for Mrs. J. F. Anderson, who passed away at her home, 1120 North Fourth Street, Saturday, June 21, at 2:05 A.M. were held Tuesday morning June 24, at the Methodist Church. Death was due to carcinoma. The services were in charge of the Rev. Charles P. Knight.
Mrs. L. R. Bynum and Mrs. C. A. Lockard, accompanied by Mrs. Lee McCord, sang "When The Roll is Called Up Yonder" and "Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus." Casket bearers were Earl Cunningham, H. E. Sturgeon, Harry Kuntz, Wm E. "Tolle", Charles Marshall and Robert R. Redington. Mrs. Gladys Culp, Mrs. Matilda Kuntz, Mrs. Letitia Cranor, Mrs. Ella Norwood, Mrs. Stella Skinner, Mrs. Pearl Gill carried the flowers. Internment was in the Neodesha cemetery under the direction of the Fawcett Funeral Home.
Out of town relatives attending the services were: Mr. & Mrs. Nikola V. Anderson and family of Gary, Indiana; Mr. & Mrs. Orval K. Anderson of Chicago, Illinois; Mr. & Mrs. Herman Root of Highland, Indiana; Mr. & Mrs. A. H. Vanderhoff of Del Ray Beach, Florida; Mr. & Mrs. M. H. Vanderhoff, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Anderson, Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Anderson all of Wichita; Mr. & Mrs. Frank Seller of Elk City; Mrs. William Stadalman and daughter Havana, Mrs. W. H. Hall of Fredonia; Mrs. Lloyd Seller and family from Havana; Mr. & Mrs. Roy Shoemaker and Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Shoemaker of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Friends attending were; Mrs. Dottie Pruitt Brongher of Cherryville; Cliff Jones of Caney; Mr. & Mrs. Frank Blair of Chanute; Mrs. Irene VanPelt of Kansas City, Missouri; Mr. & Mrs. Harry Post and Mr. & Mrs. William Post of Altoona.
Matilda Florence Vanderhoff was born January 7, 1883 at Sycamore Valley, Kansas and was 69 years, 5 months and 14 days of age at the time of her passing. She was married on February 24, 1904 at Sycamore Calley to James Francis Anderson, moving to Neodesha the same year. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Methodist Church in Neodesha and also of the Royal Neighbors and Rebekah Lodges. Surviving are her husband of the home and two sons, Nikola V. Anderson of Gary, Indiana and Orval K. Anderson of Chicago, Illinois; and a daughter Mrs. Albertine Root of Highland, Indiana. Two brothers, A. H. Vanderhoff of Del Ray Beach, Florida and M.H. Vanderhoff of Wichita; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
