William Holmes Roe, age 80, died at the family home in Sullivanville at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, 1937 after a brief illness. He had been a resident of Sullivanville most of his life operating the family farm. Mr. Roe suffered cripling arthritis in his later years and relied on a stool to move about. He is survived by his wife, Emma May Roe, two daughters: Christine Bush of Elmira and Mrs. Kenneth (Celia) Inscho of Starkey, New York: two sons, Glen D. Roe of Cayahoga Falls, Ohio and Clarence Roe at home. He was pre-deceased by a son Leslie (Jim) Roe. Funeral services were held at the family home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads, New York.
