Sarah Elizabeth Yatman Ball

Sarah Elizabeth Yatman was the seventh of nine children born to Esek Yatman and Arrenna Pollison Yatman. Sarah was born and raised in Lafayette.
On March 7, 1867 Sarah married George Edward Ball, son of Ralph Burnett and Catherine Titus Ball. The couple lived in Hardyston and had eleven children; Emma (m. Charles W Carpenter), Harriet "Hattie" (m. Jonathan Crossman Stephens), George Burnett, Mary Louise (m. Frank Edwards), Aretta Deree, Edward John, William Henry, Chester Arthur, Kathryn "Katie" (m. John Irwin Foster), Sarah "Bessie" (m. Edward J Doyle), and Hazel Dean (m. Harry Cleveland Hulbert).
Sarah and her family lived in Hardyston until sometime before 1910. According to the 1910 census, she was living in Pompton with George, two of their daughters, one son-in-law and two grandchildren. By 1920 Sarah moved back to Franklin and was living with her daugther Mary's family.
Sarah died in 1920 and is buried with her husband at North Church Cemetery in Hamburg, Sussex, New Jersey.
