Wilbur Whitehead

Wilbur was part of a set of twins born to Samuel and Velma. He and his brother Benjamin were the fifth and sixth boys born to the family.

According to records, Wilbur was twice married, though the dates are unclear. He and his first wife Sarah had one child, William “Billy” Whitehead, born in 1929. At the time the family was living in Branchburg, NJ. By 1940, Wilbur was remarried and living in Bridgewater with his second wife Catherine. Wilbur’s son Billy was living with his grandparents at the farm in Ringoes, where he spent most of his life.

Wilbur held jobs in farm labor, machine operation, and factory labor through his life.

He lived in Bridgewater and Somerville until his death in 1987.
