Arthur Whitehead

Arthur was the third child and third son born to Samuel and Velma. According to census documents, Arthur only completed school up to the fourth grade but continued to live and work on the Ringoes farm until at least 1930.

He married Carrie Hennessey sometime between 1930 and 1935 and the two moved to Lambertville, NJ. The two had no children.

Arthur worked as a farm laborer much of his life, but was also listed as a tree cutter in the 1940 census. After 1940, Arthur worked for some time at the Thermoid Rubber Company in Trenton.

He passed away in the emergency room of Hunterdon Medical Center in 1968, 2 years after his wife. They are both buried in adjoining plots at Holcombe Riverview Cemetery in Lambertville. Though his headstone is registered as a war veteran, documented service has not been uncovered.
