Norman Clifford Whitehead

Norman Clifford was born in late 1900 near Ringoes, NJ. He was the eldest of Samuel and Velma’s 12 surviving children. He mostly went by his middle name, Clifford.

Clifford was married twice, though he had no children and was either divorced or widowed by the time of his death in 1967.

According to census records, Clifford worked as a store manager and a day laborer. He lived in Ringoes most of his life but also spent time in Easton, PA as well as Trenton, NJ. He also spent some time in prison for fraud, though the actual dates and circumstances are uncertain.

Clifford was living on Perry Street in Trenton at the time of his death. He passed away at Donnelly Memorial Hospital. His obituary states that his funeral was held at Holcombe Funeral Home in Flemington, though his headstone, if there is one, has yet to be rediscovered.
