Cornelis Janse Buys was the first child born to Jan Cornelis Buys (Jan Damen) and his first wife Eybetje Lubberts Van Blarcom.

On July 21, 1676 Cornelis married Machtel Gerrits of New York. Records indicate they had at least one child, Margriet Cornelis Buys, baptized October 12, 1679 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York.¹
