Amos Munson Sutton

Amos Munson Sutton was born son of Michael Rorick Sutton and Elizabeth Forrester Sutton. He was raised in Sussex County, New Jersey and relocated with the family in the early 1850s to Macomb, Michigan.

On February 20, 1866 Amos married Joanna Bates, daughter of Joseph Bates and Jane Griffith, in Wayne, Michigan. There is no record of children from this marriage.

Amos is listed as working as a Traveling Agent in the 1870 census. He and his wife were living with his in-laws in Detroit.

Amos Munson Sutton died in 1884 and is buried on a large Sutton/Ayres plot at Romeo Cemetery in Romeo, Macomb County, Michigan.
