John Rorick Sutton

John Rorick Sutton was born in 1810 son of Jacob Sutton and Hannah Rorick Sutton.

On March 12, 1836 John Rorick married Jemima Stoll of Hardyston and the two had six children born in Sussex County, New Jersey: Lewis H, Delphina, George B, John R, Theodore D, and Estella.

There is a record of John R Sutton working at a U.S. Postmaster at the Vernon, Sussex, New Jersey Post Office from 1845-1847.

The Genealogical Notes of the Sutton Family of New Jersey also indicates that John removed to Racine, Wisconsin and died there.¹ More research needs to go into both claims especially considering John's wife and children remained in Hardyston.

John Rorick Sutton died in 1848. No circumstances of death nor burial location are currently available.
