John Abraham Stryker

John Abraham Stryker was the only son born to Abraham Johannes Stryker and Annatje Stoothoff.

Sometime around the early 1790s, John married Lammentje Probasco and had three children: Abraham Stryker, Jacob Probasco Stryker, and Mary Stryker. Although some information points to John’s first wife dying in 1808, is makes more sense that she would have passed prior to his second marriage in 1805. This first marriage needs more research. On October 3, 1805 John married Catherine Smith in Somerville, Somerset, New Jersey. John and Catherine had three children: Elvira Stryker, Ann Catherine Stryker, and John A Stryker.

It is likely that John farmed the same lands as his father and grandfather.

John Abraham Stryker died November 8, 1813.
