Garret Edwards

Garret Edwards was the third child born to William Edwards and Mary Ann Vanderhoof Edwards. Garret was raised in Hardyston but eventually moved west.

In December 1874, Garret married Charlotte Elizabeth Kerr, daughter of Joseph Kerr and Jane Hopkins Kerr of Newark, New Jersey. Garret in Charlotte "lottie" had eight children all but the first born in Kansas; Joseph W (1876), Jennie Mae (1879-1944, m. Walter D Vanderhoff, James White Duthie), Sadie K (1882-1968, m. John Manary Logan), Harry E (1885-1949), Mable G (1888-1962), Frank Dale (1892-1943), Charlotte M (1895), and Hugh J (1897-1974).

Garret worked as a farmer and a clerk later in life.

Garret Edwards died in 1913 and is buried with his wife at Stafford Cemetery in Stafford, Kansas.
