Rufus Vanderhoff

Rufus was the ninth child and second son born to Jacob and Susan Cole Vanderhoff.

In the early 1900s, Rufus married Ella Post and the couple had two children; Chester B and Gladys Margaret. Ella passed in 1929 and in 1946 Rufus married his second wife, Maude Doel Andrerson.

According to jcajersey on ancestry.com:
Rufus and his second wife Maude (Doel) Anderson, my grandmother, lived on Star Lake Rd, Bloomingdale until he had a heart attack in the early 50's. At this time it was decided that they would move in with us, so my father built an addition to our house in Butler, NJ and they moved in with us.

Rufus died in 1956 and is buried with his first wife and presumably a grandchild, Roger, at North Hardyston Cemetery in Hamburg, Sussex, New Jersey.
