Aaron Lake

Aaron was the 5th of 6 children born to Henry and Anna Swallow Lake. Aaron lived at home in East Amwell, NJ until at least the age of 22, and probably until his marriage in 1853.

On April 27, 1853 Aaron married Mary Danberry daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Snook Danberry of East Amwell, NJ. Aaron and Mary had 9 children; Sarah Louise (m. Jefferson K Strouse), Mercy (m. John Fink), Bloomfield, Nickolus, Ellen Caroline (m. Charles Totten), Adam, William J, Sadie Ann (m. Charles H Helmuth), and Rose E (who died as a child).

Aaron worked his life a a laborer. In 1863 at the age of 36 he did register for the for the Civil War draft, though it is not clear whether he served.

Aaron died at home in Trenton, NJ of heart failure. Undertaker - N.R. Blackwell, Coroner - John Bower. Aaron's death certificate lists Ewing Cemetery as his place of burial, though a headstone has not been found.
