Frederick W Van Blarcom

Frederick "Fred" Van Blarcom was the first child born to John and Emma Weller Van Blarcom. He lived at home until around 1880 when he moved in with his cousin, Joseph C Van Blarcom, son of William and Catherine A Sutton Van Blarcom. It is assumed he moved due to the early loss of both parents.

On January 6, 1884, Fred married Katherine J Hannah in Lafayette, New Jersey. The couple had one son, Joseph, in 1885. Their only son died in 1890 at 5 years old. Sometime after Kate's death in 1913, Fred married Mary Edith Mathews.

As a young man Fred worked as a farm laborer. In the early 1900s he worked as a salesman in a general store and also as a day laborer performing odd jobs. In the 1940s he worked as a gardener.

In the 1940 census Fred was listed as living with his younger brother Willie in Sparta, Sussex, New Jersey. Both men were widowed at the time.

There is no current information on Fred's death or burial.
